Dan and I went to Ghana for 2 weeks. We went with 5 other BYU students and our advisor. We went as part of the BYU engineering class, Engineers Without Borders. The class includes designing and building an engineering project. Dan and I were assigned to design and build a windmill that will used to generate electricity. We took 8 months to optimize our design, and then we went to Ghana to build a windmill and teach the people how to build more. Ghana was definitely an eye opener. There are so many people who have nothing. We installed our windmill next in a town where the people live in mud huts and their roofs are made from palm tree leaves. Their homes are so small and they sleep on the mud floor. Their bathroom in a pit latrine that is half a mile away because it smells so much. After returning from Ghana I felt so blessed to have such a high standard of living and have so much.
All Ghanians carry their packages on their head. They learn when they are really little.
This is where the poor people live. They don't have any place to put their garbage so it piles up in the rivers or they just burn it.
We were able to do a session in the Ghana Temple.
We also went to visit the missionaries in the Ghana MTC.

Love the pictures...sad you didn't post any of the children there! It looks like so much fun. I would love to go there someday
